EXIST Start-up Grant for SherpAI, an AI Spin-off from the Chair

SherpAI – From Research Artefact to a Funded Spin-off

SherpAI, an AI spin-off initiated at the Junior Professorship for AI-Based Application Systems, has been awarded an EXIST start-up grant (BMWE/ESF). The funding decision is dated 1 August 2026.

They had come to present the SUPERvisor Award 2026 to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marcus Grum – the Graduate School’s award for excellent academic supervision of doctoral researchers. Neither the date nor the place had been announced. The surprise was part of the plan.
